HQ Bank — Privacy Policy

HQ Bank ("the app", "we") is a medical question-bank study application. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

When you create an account and use the app we collect:

• Account information — email address, display name, and (optionally) your university, provided during sign-up. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
• Study & usage data — your answers, progress, flashcards, scores, and activity within the app, stored to sync your progress across sessions.
• Photos — profile photos you upload, and (for admins) images attached to questions.
• Audio recordings — (for admins) audio recordings attached to questions. Audio is only captured when a recording is actively started.
• Device & technical data — basic technical information needed to deliver notifications and keep the service reliable and secure.

2. How we use your information

We use the data to operate the app: authenticate you, save and sync your study progress, send local study reminders (notifications), provide app features you request, and improve reliability and security. We do not sell your personal data.

3. Notifications

The app uses local notifications for daily study reminders. You can disable them at any time from your device settings.

4. Data storage and third parties

Your data is stored using Supabase and Google Firebase, which act as our service providers. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy terms. We do not share your personal information with advertisers.

5. Account & data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data (profile, email, study progress, uploaded photos, and audio) directly inside the app:

1. Open the app and go to Profile.
2. Open Account.
3. Tap Delete Account and confirm.

Your account and personal data are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days. Alternatively, you may request deletion at any time by emailing hqbank.support@gmail.com from your registered email. We retain data only where required by law.

6. Children's privacy

The app is intended for medical students and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

7. Your rights

You may access, correct, or delete your personal data, and withdraw consent, by contacting us.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
